Description

Dang Gui (Jiu Zhi) – 当归(酒制)
Latin name: Angelica sinensis
Common name: Chinese Angelica Root, Dong Quai (Wine-processed)
Part used: Root
Traditional meridian affiliation: Heart, Liver, Spleen

Dang Gui (当归) is one of the premier herbs in the Chinese materia medica, chiefly used for nourishing blood, regulating menstruation, and harmonising the internal environment. The “Jiu Zhi” (酒制) version is Dang Gui that has been processed with wine, which enhances its blood-invigorating and circulation-promoting properties.

Because the wine processing encourages the upward and dispersing action of the herb, Dang Gui (Jiu Zhi) is often more suited to patterns where blood stasis or cold stagnation is involved, such as painful menstruation, post-traumatic swelling, or obstruction in vessels.

Phoenix Medical’s Dang Gui (Jiu Zhi) is cultivated under DaoDi principles in its classical production zones, with no use of synthetic herbicides or pesticides. It is dried without sulphur, and processed in GMP-certified facilities. Every production batch is fully traceable and tested against stringent EU/UK quality and safety standards.
