Description

Fu Ling – 茯苓
Latin name: Wolfiporia extensa (syn. Poria cocos)
Common name: Poria / Hoelen / China-root
Part used: Sclerotium (fungal tuber)
Traditional meridian affiliation: Spleen, Heart, Kidney, Lung

Fu Ling (茯苓) is placed in the “herbs that drain dampness” category in traditional Chinese medicine. It is sweet, bland, and of neutral nature. Its principal functions include promoting urination and leaching out dampness, strengthening the Spleen and harmonising the Middle Jiao, and calming the Spirit by quieting the Heart.

Clinically, Fu Ling is applied to presentations such as oedema, urinary difficulty, diarrhea or poor appetite due to Spleen deficiency with dampness, and symptoms of restlessness, palpitations or insomnia associated with Spleen-Heart disharmony.

Phoenix Medical’s Fu Ling is cultivated under DaoDi standards in its classical growth regions. It is grown without synthetic herbicides or pesticides, dried without sulphur, and processed in GMP-certified facilities. Every batch is fully traceable and rigorously tested to meet EU and UK safety, purity, and potency standards.
