Gou Qi Zi (枸杞子) is the small red berry of Lycium barbarum. In traditional Chinese medicine, it is associated with the Liver, Kidney and Lung meridians. It is sweet in flavour and neutral in nature. Its principal functions are to nourish Liver and Kidney Yin, augment Essence and Blood, and brighten the eyes.
