Description
Black Soybeans, know as Douchi or black beans, are a type of fermented and salted black soybean. They are a flavouring most popular in China, where they are most widely used for making black bean sauce dishes. Black soybeans should not be confused with the black turtle bean, a variety that is commonly used in Central and South America in dishes such as burritos. The black soybean contains many vitamins, proteins and amino acids and is known to be a source of balance.
The black soybean has many similar benefits to the red and green bean. However, the black soybean is sometimes easier to consume within cooking and more adapted to the Western palate.
